Works with Claude and ChatGPT
Give the assistant you already use read-only access to your budget, then ask it about your money. It can look, it can explain, and it cannot change a thing.

What you can ask
Every answer comes from your actual accounts, budget, and transactions, and the assistant shows the basis it used, so you can check the math.
How to connect
About two minutes. No password is ever typed into the assistant: you sign in on Budgeteer, choose which household to share, and approve a read-only connection.
Available on every Claude plan, including Free. Works in the Claude apps and on the web.
Custom connectors are available on ChatGPT paid plans.
Any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in will work.
The connection is built so that the least amount of trust does the most work. Here is exactly what that means.
You sign in on Budgeteer, never in the assistant. It receives a scoped token for the one household you chose.
It can look and explain, and that is all. Adding, editing, deleting, and moving money are not available to it, and your questions are never stored.
Settings, Connections shows each assistant and when it last asked for anything. Disconnect there, or change your password, and access stops immediately.
One thing to know before you connect: whatever you ask about, your assistant's provider sees. If you ask about your grocery spending, that figure goes to them, the same way anything you type into a chat does. Budgeteer never sends anything the assistant did not ask for, and never sends account numbers or credentials, but the choice to share is yours to make.
Some apps with no public API are reachable only through community-built connectors that ask for your real email, password, and two-factor code. Budgeteer's connection never sees your password. The assistant gets a scoped token you can revoke, and nothing else.
The assistant connection is included with every plan, monthly or annual, at no extra cost. Every member of your household can connect their own assistant.
This is not an enterprise feature. Claude supports custom connectors on every plan, including Free. ChatGPT and other assistants support them on their paid tiers. Any client that speaks the open Model Context Protocol will work.
Start your budget, connect your assistant from Settings, and ask it how the month is going. Two months free, cancel in one click.
